Preliminary analysis of the TIVO-1 trial has shown that the new antivascular endothelial growth factor inhibitor tivozanib increases progression-free survival (PFS) significantly more than the multikinase inhibitor sorafenib in patients with advanced renal cell cancer.

- Etravirine now in 200mg tablets

The antiretroviral etravirine (Intelence) is now available as 200mg tablets. (It was previously formulated only as 100mg tablets.) Manufacturer Janssen says the new tablet strength will reduce the pill burden from four to two per day. Both strengths can be taken dispersed in a glass of water.
