Roche analyser for STDs
Published on 01/12/10Roche has introduced a new analyser for detecting infection by human papillomavirus (HPV) and Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (CT/NG).
The company says its Cobas 4800 offers automated swab and urine sample preparation, real-time polymerase chain reaction technology for amplification and detection, and seamless integration of extraction and amplification. Up to 376 CT/NG or 282 HPV samples can be run in a day. Roche claims the instrument has high negative predictive value for HPV infection and high sensitivity and specificity for CT/NG infection.
