Misplaced intrauterine contraceptive device

The authors describe the case of a woman who presented with pelvic pain following insertion of an intrauterine system by her GP, and was found to have a uterine perforation. This is an uncommon but recognised complication of intrauterine devices. Copyright © 2009 Wiley Interface Ltd
