3. Management of urinary tract infections in men
Authors
Abstract
Urinary tract infection in the adult male is rare and usually indicates underlying urological pathology. The aim in primary care is to make a prompt and accurate diagnosis, to initiate appropriate antibiotic treatment and to start the process of urinary tract investigation, which may well culminate in a urological referral. In this article, the authors provide a practical stepwise guide for those managing urinary tract infections in adolescent and adult males in the community. Copyright © 2007 Wiley Interface Ltd
