Management of hypertension and pre‐eclampsia in pregnancy

The authors discuss the importance of early identification of women at risk of developing hypertension or preeclampsia during pregnancy. Regular antenatal surveillance, with timely referral to an obstetrician for appropriate prophylactic and antihypertensive interventions, will optimise the health of both mother and baby.
