Managing the newly diagnosed HIV‐infected individual
Authors
Abstract
Recent advances in the treatment of HIV infection have led to prolonged survival and an emphasis on the long‐term clinical management of HIV disease. In this article, the authors discuss the assessment of a patient who is newly diagnosed with HIV infection. The initial assessment provides the opportunity to begin a partnership between the doctor and the patient that may continue for many years. Copyright © 2008 Wiley Interface Ltd.
