Diagnosis and management of genitourinary prolapse
Authors
Abstract
Female genitourinary prolapse, or pelvic organ prolapse, is a common gynaecological problem, often associated with symptoms that do not correlate with the site and degree of prolapse. Although surgery is the mainstay of treatment, the patient should first be offered conservative treatment options. Adequate counselling is essential, as there is a risk of recurrence after surgery.
