Modern management of postmenopausal bleeding
Authors
Abstract
Postmenopausal bleeding is any unscheduled vaginal bleeding that occurs after 12 months of amenorrhoea in a woman of postmenopausal age. Although a benign cause is likely, bleeding is the most common presenting symptom of endometrial cancer and should always be regarded with suspicion and investigated promptly.
