Changing times for the management of localised prostate cancer
Authors
Abstract
With recent NICE guidance emphasising the role of active surveillance for men with ‘low‐risk’ prostate cancer, the authors ask whether we can reliably identify those men with cancers that have a minimal risk of progression. While it is important for patients to be involved in treatment decisions, the diversity of opinion and the lack of high quality comparative data mean that there is no recommended ‘best practice’ for treatment of this disease.
